The Trinity in the New Testament

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are One.

- I John 5:7

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

- Matthew 28:19

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

- 11 Corinthians 13:14

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art My beloved Son: in Thee I am well pleased.

The Trinity in the Apostles' Creed

1. I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

2. And in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord;

3. Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary;

4. Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;

5. The third day he rose again from the dead;

6. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.

7. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead;

8. I believe in the Holy Ghost.

9. I believe an holy catholic Church; the communion of saints;

10. The forgiveness of sins;

11. The resurrection of the body;

12. And the life everlasting. Amen.

Why does the Bible speak more clearly of God the Son after His birth in Bethlehem and of God the Holy Spirit after His outpouring on Pentecost? Why are they spoken of more by prophecies and pictures (types) in the Old Testament?
