God's decree is His eternal will, purpose, and plan, in which H has foreordained (determined from eternity) all things that come t pass. God's mind and will are revealed in His decree.

It is only fitting that God, who created and governs all things should do so according to a definite plan.

A teacher once placed a chair on a table in the front of her classroom. She had arranged for a student to move the chair from one end of the table to precisely the same place on the other end, once every ten seconds, in a manner in which the student could not be seen by the class.

"As you can see," she told her class, "it's obvious that this chair moves itself."

"Of course not," her class responded. "Some force has to be moving the chair. Objects don't move themselves! Besides, the lifeless chair moves according to a pattern. "

"Look at the sun, moon, and stars," she argued. "They are lifeless objects and they move themselves according to precise patterns, don't they?"

"They can't. Some force has to be moving them according to a plan."

"Who is generating the steady force required to keep our universe operating precisely according to His plan?" she asked.

How does God's universe testify of His decree, His plan?

Why must a person be shown by the Holy Spirit that he is a lost sinner who is answerable to a righteous God, before he will truly need and beg for salvation in Jesus Christ?

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me,

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.

- Isaiah 46:9-10

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will.
