In the Old Testament, God chose certain persons to be anointed to serve in one or two of the following three offices:
1. Prophet Old Testament prophets, priests, and kings were types of Christ - they pointed to, and pictured, the work of Christ. Only Jesus Christ, however, was appointed to serve in all three offices.
