During Christ's ministry on earth, He personally taught by word and action. From the time of His baptism, at the age of thirty, Christ began His official work - "preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God" (Mark 1: 14b). He confirmed His teaching by performing miracles.
After Christ's ministry on earth, He teaches by means of His Word and Spirit as we read previously in this chapter. Jesus Christ serves as Prophet of His Church from heaven. He has all power to send forth the Holy Spirit to internally apply the truths of His Word - to enlighten the minds and renew the hearts of His children.
