Read the Heidelberg Catechism, Question and Answer 32:

Q. But why art thou called a Christian?

A. Because I am a member of Christ by faith, and thus am partaker of His anointing; that so I may confess His Name, and present myself a living sacrifice of thankfulness to Him: and also that with a free and good conscience I may fight against sin and Satan in this life: and afterwards reign with Him eternally, over all creatures.

In this answer, which words describe the gracious resulting works in the life of a true Christian as:

a. Prophet?
b. Priest?
c. King?

Terry claims to be a Christian. To all who ask, he confesses that he accepted Christ as his Savior when he was ten years old.

As a seventeen-year-old, however, Terry is frequently attending places of entertainment where God's Name is profaned, violence is glorified, nudity is displayed, and mockery is promoted. He regularly uses Sunday for his own pleasures - swimming, golfing, skiing, etc.

If Christ is truly our Savior, then He also is our King. If He is our King, then we most deeply love to serve Him and do that which is pleasing in His sight. Explain how Terry is mistakenly separating these truths. Why is the connection of these truths very important?

If a person is a true Christian, can he fall into sin? Can he contentedly live in sin? Why and why not?

A true Christian is one who inwardly needs Christ's gracious work as Prophet, Priest, and King, and outwardly reflects God's grace in love toward God and others.
