1. Act with consciousness of the truth that God is their Master

And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with Him.

2. Avoid rigorous demands and aggressive actions

Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.

3. Abstain from demanding non-essential work on the Sabbath

Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God.

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

3. Avoid all objecting, delaying, or talking back

Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

4. Suffer wrongs with patience

Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

5. Serve humbly and treat employers/managers with due respect

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

6. Act with consciousness of the fact that God witnesses their service

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.
With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men.
