These "new life" examples all point to the commemoration of the great "new life" day, Jesus' resurrection from the dead which secured "new life" for His entire Church. include "../doctrineincs/regufont.html"; ?> 6. The "rest" earned by Jesus Christ marks the end of Old Testament, but the beginning of New Testament times. The Church's deliverance, its rest, was accomplished at the end of the Old Testament time period, but at the beginning of New Testament times. The placement of the weekly Sabbath Day points to this fact. The Old Testament church lived looking forward to Christ and the deliverance and rest He would accomplish at the end of the Old Testament. To reflect this, the Old Testament rest day was the last day of the week. The New Testament church looks back upon and lives out of the finished work of Christ which took place at the beginning of its time. To reflect this, the New Testament rest day is the first day of the week. include "../doctrineincs/regufont.html"; ?> This truth is illustrated in the timeline below: ![]() |
